Unique dishes, excellent decour, friendly staff, and an app that let's you order before you pick-up, Two Sisters is well-worth slightly pricier menu. It is my go-to place for lunch with friends or for a midday coffee. Highly recommended.

While you're at it, order a divine Chai Latte and browse a generous selection of second-hand books and local artwork. A sleeper hit that too many locals and tourists pass by.

Smithers and the surrounding Bulkley Valley are full of stunning hikes that take the traveller into what Northern British Columbia is all about: pristine wilderness. The problem for the visitor is that it's difficult to know where to begin. We'd recommend the Babines as they are only a twenty minute drive from town and offer hikes for both beginner and veteran outdoors enthusiasts. Stop by the tourist information centre for maps, directions, and recommendations. Then set out on a sunny day and prepare to enter a world of stunning mountain ridgelines, bountiful valley basins, and beautiful alpine flowers.
