Óbidos is one of the best preserved Medieval villages in Portugal and a world known attraction on this region. Great for a day trip (about 20min from Baleal) and some "souvenir" shopping. Look for some artisan shops worth finding.

This inspired the village to become Portugal's "Jurassic Park" and since 2017 there is a theme park dedicated to the 3 eras of the dinossaur age with real size models of the iconic mega reptiles like the T-Rex. A great day with the children.
