Feng shui literally translates into wind-water and if this is your cup of tea and even if it’s not, then you cannot help but be swept up into the warm and friendly ambiance that has been lovingly created at Sam’s on the Beach.
This once RNLI lifeboat station began as old boat house and slip way all of 150 years ago and although we don’t do anything as dramatic as save lives anymore, but they can certainly still put smiles on peoples faces with Sam’s tried and tested formula of great food, great staff and great atmosphere.
With it’s custom-built wood burning pizza oven churning out artisan slices of heaven, combined with the traditionally exceptional seafood that has become so familiar at Sam’s, The Beach is truly a Combers’ paradise. The open kitchen allows you to see all the action inside, while the floor to ceiling windows bring the outside in during the cold winter months, allowing you to bask in the beauty of Polkerris harbour and the whole of St Austell Bay beyond.
During the summer we lose the windows altogether and just let the light shine on in. Think Ibizan bistro, blissed out beats and cool cocktails. Lazing on the terrace, soaking up the sun – a vibe that has to be experienced first hand to be fully appreciated.
So if any of this sounds appealing and let’s be honest it all does then follow the signs from Par where tucked away down a Cornish lane you’ll find Sam’s on The Beach, a great place to escape to – whatever the weather.

Eden Projesi
The great 13th-century circular shell-keep of Restormel still encloses the principal rooms of the castle in remarkably good condition. It stands on an earlier Norman mound surrounded by a deep dry ditch, atop a high spur beside the River Fowey. Twice visited by the Black Prince, it finally saw action during the Civil War in 1644.

It stands on an earlier Norman mound surrounded by a deep dry ditch, atop a high spur beside the River Fowey. Twice visited by the Black Prince, it finally saw action during the Civil War in 1644.
Caerhays Castle, which is owned by the Williams family is located in a sheltered valley overlooking Porthluney Cove on the South Cornish Coast equidistant from Truro and St Austell. Caerhays Castle is an English Heritage Grade 1 Listed Building which was built by the famous architect, John Nash, for the Trevanion family. Building work started in 1807 and was completed by 1810. The surrounding parkland and woodland gardens were created originally from the discoveries of the plant hunters in China shortly after the turn of the 20th century. Since then a great deal of hybridisation work and especially the creation of the first x williamsii camellias has taken place at Caerhays to create the extensive woodland gardens which visitors can admire and enjoy today.
