Sightseeing
The Capitol Building is beautiful both day an night. It is surrounded by a large park with trees from all over the world and includes a rose garden and historic memorials. Park along L street or N street, both one ways, but be sure to pay for parking if it is during parking hours (before 6pm). If you can, Lyft or Uber there and avoid parking altogether. There are several places to eat near the park on K street, in between 10th and 12th. If you are there around happy hour, don't miss Ella's Dining Room's famous Happy Hour - they are one for the best restaurants in town, but do an amazing and affordable happy hour. I also love going here for special events, like birthday. There is always Mother and Empress Tavern, which are places I frequent monthly. Also, Pizza Rock has perhaps the best pizza north of San Francisco, which includes the same pizza's as Toni's Napolatana in North Beach.

Red Rabbit also has good food, but they make a legitimate craft cocktail. The restaurant also resides on a block with several other bars and restaurants. If you want a classy drink, venture to this one.

Lowbrau offers craft cocktails and famous sausages made in house. I once took a spanish tourist here who was missing food at home and got her a charcuterie board that brought tears to her eyes! This is a lively spot on nights and weekend and is great to meet new people and socialize. Located in a progressive part of town, so people flock to this location.
