A local staple - they've been in the game for 25+ years and still going strong. Best to lock in a reservation. Recommended in "Where to Eat in Canada" the Landmark Cafe is located in what used to be Annie Craig's Grocery Store and Post Office at the centre of the Village of Victoria kitty corner from the Victoria Playhouse.

We love featuring Lone Oak as one of our go-to brews for the complimentary cold drinks we leave ready for you upon checking-in. Go to the source and see what they are all about yourself. Save some room to grab some of the best bites on the island at The Abbey (located inside the brewery)

The second location of this popular fresh seafood joint. We love it because you don't have to wait in line for hours like you do in Stanhope. Great lobster rolls, fish burgers and more. Outdoor seating and even some hammocks to lounge in and take in the view of the Victoria harbour.

Bonshaw Hills Provincial Park: Located on the Trans-Canada Highway just 15 minutes from the Hideout, you can enjoy over 18km of hiking and mountain bike trails along the Bonshaw River. The trails are for all fitness levels from walking trails to challenging climbs. There are also picnic facilities, and a natural adventure playground. The main trail was named Ji'ka'we'katik Trail - after the traditional Mi'kmaq name for the West River. Ji'ka'we'katik (Pronounced - Jih Ga Way Ga Dig) means "the place where bass are plentiful" in Mi'kmaq.

Shopping

One of our favourite antique stops on the island. The converted church it is located in is a masterpiece of its own (make sure to look up the clock tower when you arrive). Incredible finds and treasures. Not light on the pocketbook if you're hoping to score a find but well worth the visit. If the owner is in shop and you strike up a conversation, be prepared to stay for a while - he's got some great stories.

Victoria by the Sea Located 10 minutes away from the Hideout this small seaside town is full of charm and treasures, and is one of our favourite places on PEI. Home to some great restaurants, a ‘can’t have just one’ chocolate shop, local artisan galleries and The Victoria Playhouse - you won't want to leave this cozy spot.
