Update 10/2018 - go soon, the family that owns the building and the business is squabbling and it may go out of business in the next few months.

Our favorite scone in the whole city (blueberry-lemon, since you asked). Don't recommend the cupcakes...but their rugelach rocks. Great place to grab a fast scone & coffee breakfast when you are on the fly.

Spicy means SPICY here, so go mild if you are spice averse (and everyone else who wasn't born into a spicy-food culture should prolly just go medium). Saved room for dessert? Try A Buttercup Dessert House a few blocks down Valencia for Taiwanese-inspired sweets.

Have a car, want Dim Sum? This is the *the* restaurant that revolutionized and upleveled Dim Sum for the whole Bay Area...and it's still fabulous. Easier to get into in the post-pandemic world...and TBH, it's closer than Chinatown and there is ample free parking in their lot. Might have to wait a bit...the earlier you go, the faster you get seated. Regrettably, like many Dim Sum houses, they mostly are order-from-a-sheet, they don't have carts roaming the room anymore.
