Scars of the Heart permanent exhibition is a necessary summary of how NZ came to be the way it is, with stories and artefacts from the Maori-Pakeha land wars. This exhibitor also shows our place in the 2 World Wars. The building always hosts dynamic exhibitions and interactive displays as well. The Museum is in the Auckland Domain - just like my local, GreyLynn Park - the Domain is a stunning place to walk around.

It's very close [10 minutes in the car] and well laid out - not too small and not too big. The Giraffes are awesome. If there is a live concert on, grab a picnic and go! GREAT way to relax - animals and tunes.
