The Maritime Inn's dining room is a great popular spot to find a comfortable table and a delicious meal at a medium range price. The menu is varied, as are the seating options. Don't miss the bread pudding offered for dessert!

This is a great spot to go for a traditional diner-style breakfast or lunch. They're open at 7am and closed at 5pm. The food is great and basic. Some local favorites are their corn chowder, their satisfying sandwiches, and their bacon and eggs breakfasts. Be forewarned that the desserts are awfully tempting!

The iconic lighthouse at "the Cape" is a step back in time as well as being a great spot for a picnic, or just a quick rest stop. The property overlooks George's Bay. The lower west coast of Cape Breton is a spectacular sight straight across the bay. Visit the beach and Cape George hiking trail while you're in the neighbourhood. This site is a 10-minute drive from Living-Stone Cottage and a 25-minute drive from downtown Antigonish.

The hike up to the Fairmont Ridge is a beautiful activity, and very good exercise. A well marked trail head is located on Hwy 337, and there is ample parking.

The Cape George Heritage Trail features 37 km of hiking that offer spectacular views and an intimate experience with the natural forest. http://www.capegeorgetrails.ca/

It's a popular walk for locals and tourists alike.
There is a beach, a small waterfall, short hikes, and simple amenities in this provincial park. It's about a 15-minute drive from Livingstone Cove.

Getting Around
Taxi service is available with two or three companies based in Antigonish.
It's always fun to take a ride on the ACTS buses. It's also inexpensive. Drivers will answer questions about the local area. Schedules and fares can be found on their web site. It can cost you as little as $4 for a return trip from one point to another within the town, and not much more for a longer trip.
