At high tide the littlies can enjoy the shallow water and explore the rocks etc. This is also a popular spot for fishing for snapper and kahawai.

This horse shoe bay with plenty of parking is popular for swimming, snorkelling and playing in the sand.
Cable Bay
Opposite the Cable Bay Store, this beach has plenty of shells to check out, pinkish sand and waves to jump near shore or swim or bodyboard in further out. Then the store is right there for that mandatory ice cream.

A three-kilometre walk around the village takes in 18 heritage buildings. There are also walks to picturesque Mill Bay and the site of Rangikapiti Pa, an ancient Maori fort with commanding views. Sailing, fishing and dive trips operate from Mangonui Harbour. YOu can walk up Rangikapiti Pa with sweeping views over Doubtless Bay from Mangonui to Taipa Have fun and an easy trip to Mangonui with an e-bike hired from Golden Sand. Master the hills with little effort and feel like a hero!
