Food scene

A taste of District Del Sol, the best authentic food in the Midwest. There are many great spots around it, including a cafe. If you venture just down the road (west) you can find a food truck pop-up.. some great foodie finds.

Red Cow is home to high quality food in the mid-tier food genre. A casual restaurant that packs a punch with some outstanding food. Home to my number 1 burger in the TC area (and I have sampled MANY) the double-barrel burger.

Another casual, upper-class spot, is Parlour. Similar to Red Cow with a few different offerings, this is home to my VERY close 2nd favorite burger, The Parlour Burger.

Stillwater is a must visit place for anyone from out-of-town. Mont Petit Cheri is a diamond in the rough. OUTSTANDING BREAKFAST! I get the breakfast sandwich with homemade english muffin, gouda cheese, ham, and bacon... it is the perfect balance of quality and quantity. Most people will get close to finishing or just finish it and feel just right. My all-time favorite breakfast sandwich spot.

If you are from out of state, and looking to do a little extra travel, you must go to Duluth, sight see, get a malt from Duluth Malt Shop AND go to Northern Waters Smokehaus. The Cajun Fin, or the basic North Atlantic Salmon sandwiches... are some of the best sandwiches I have ever had. Worth the drive + a great day trip to see a beautiful spot.

Farmers Markets are WORTH it

Most are quite spendy, but for the unique, HIGH-QUALITY deliverables, it is totally worth the experience. Some of the best cheeses I have ever had (and I am from Wisconsin!) came from the Mill City's Farmers Market. I would recommend getting to as many as your can. The Minneapolis Farmers Market has a good breakfast burrito (not AMAZING, but good. Great for a hangover I am sure).

Food Trucks

There are SO many different food spots that "you cannot miss!!!". But, you will not get to all of them. I will list some of my favorites (some now have restaurants open!). El Norte Kitchen -- if you can claim this burrito, PLEASE DO IT! A very small business, but the best burrito in the Twin Cities. Animales BBQ -- sounds like what you expect. Great BBQ. Bebe Zito -- I am not sure about their food truck, but if you want an excellent 60's date night, burger, fries, and my favorite ice cream in the cities... right here. I think the only place you can get all three is their Malcolm Yards location
