Located at the top of the cliffs of one of our favourite beaches, Drift offers sit in options as well as take away lighter bites and coffees. Can highly recommend the Drift roll - bacon, fried eggs and aioli. The walk down the beach is steep so not suitable for those with mobility issues.

Whitekirk Hill offers an award winning spa, fabulous food at the Orangery & Terrace, and fun for the younger kids at the Play Barn. There is also nice walks around the area and great views out to Bass Rock.

They are a stockist of the Cook range if you're looking for an easy meal to cook at home.
For the active kids, you will also find the Archerfield Walled Garden Kids Park Run at 9.30am every Sunday. You'll just need to register on the Park Run website before turning up and then it's free to take part.

The garden is open to visit from 10am to 4pm on Mondays to Fridays and from 10am to 1pm on Saturdays.

One of our favourite beaches in East Lothian, Seacliff has stunning views out to Fidra Island, and round to Tantalon Castle. You will need £3 in cash to access the beach and the track down is pretty bumpy so be warned, but it is worth it.

The John Muir Way stretches 134 miles or 215 km across Scotland’s heartland, running between Helensburgh in the west through to Dunbar on the east coast and Muir's birthplace. The more manageable walk between North Berwick and Dunbar is particularly beautiful.

Haddington is a medium sized market town, situated along the River Tyne. There are very pleasant riverside walks which can be accessed all along the river, including at the Waterside Bistro, Aubigny Sports Centre and Knox playing fields as well as through Clerkington Woods.
