One of our favorites at the beach! This place has an unreal selection of beers, and then does a selection of unique burgers, fries & fried oreos. That’s it! And that is all you need… the burgers are unreal here and we highly recommend “The Elvis” - it has a peanut butter sauce on the burger… Just trust us on this one! You won’t regret it. In the back they have a stage that often has live music - fun little spot.

And that is all you need… the burgers are unreal here and we highly recommend “The Elvis” - it has a peanut butter sauce on the burger… Just trust us on this one! You won’t regret it. In the back they have a stage that often has live music - fun little spot.
NC Coast is likely one of the most popular restaurants on the island and is located just North of us in Duck. It is situated right on the bay with beautiful views of the water. They serve great cocktails, wine & beer, and also have a full menu with a kitchen open to the dining room. We highly recommend ordering their “Boards” which is a massive board served family style with tastings of all their food. These are great for a group and always seem to be just the right amount of food. NC Coast is a little pricey so just keep that in mind if you are on a budget!

Front Porch is right down the street from the Casita on the Highway - easy to walk to in the morning. We love to walk there in the morning, grab a coffee and a delicious pastry and then walk down to the beach or the bay for a morning walk. Front Porch also has great pre prepared breakfast sandwiches and frozen lemonade. You can also stop there with your laptop if you want to sit down and get some work done while you are visiting.

Waveriders is a short drive South, but worth a stop in. We recommend driving down and grabbing a coffee before you go and explore Jockey’s Ridge State Park which is just past Waveriders.

Great for an early morning drive South, you will need to wake up early for this gem that has unreal pastries, breakfast sandwiches and other baked goods. The line gets long and they sell out early in the morning, so this trip is for those early birds, but well worth it if you couple it with a day exploring Hatteras as well.
Don’t be deterred by the name! - This OBX staple is a bit of an oddity for sure… but just a few minutes drive from us, there is a gas station (yes you read that right) known for its delicious biscuit/ biscuit sandwiches. At night you can head up and grab a drink on their deck bar, the Sway Bar (Yes, it sways in the wind sometimes…) and have views of the ocean with live music and a cocktail.
The Jolly Roger Restaurant is a beach staple. When you walk in you will be greeted by pirates, 1960’s decor mixed with old Christmas decorations and stained glass windows. Nothing in this place really makes sense, but they have a great breakfast and serve giant mimosas and bloody Mary’s. Would recommend the classic Jolly Roger Breakfast, their breakfast sandwiches, the massive pancakes, and the cinnabuns.

Manteo is a beautiful little town with historic architecture, walks along the water, and a great food and restaurant scene. Just a short drive, it is worth a stop if you want to go explore for a morning. Olives serves up amazing Greek food and platters. Highly recommend their gyros!

This is a causal spot, but a great place for the family - we often stop in for quick pizza and drink. In the Winter time they turn the place into “Jingle 12” with igloos and ski cabins in the backyard, a holiday decorated interior and offer a great menu of food and wintery themed drinks!
