Food scene

This brunch spot is in a shopping area right near our house and is one of our favorites. It's a local chain and has a nice mix of healthy options or decadent ones, their juices are great and the pancake trio is amazing if you have a sweet tooth.

This is a locally owned place, they have great coffee and just an overall nice ambiance. There is a small playground next to this location as well as a walking path, so if you have kiddos they can play while you eat.

This is kind of a trendy "food court" with different food vendors - sandwiches, Asian food, Hawaiian, etc. There is also a brewhouse connected to it and a pizza place next door. There's usually social events going on here, they have salsa nights, live music etc. Also has a rooftop area with a view of the mountains.

This is an old public school that has been repurposed into food vendors, bar and brewery. You can visit the "principal's office" and gym since they kept much of the layout intact. Cool place and they also have outdoor seating.

This is an awesome hiking spot right in the middle of the city. You can choose from several easy-to-moderate trails, and most of them aren't long. Great views of the city.

This is another beautiful hiking spot that's a short drive away. It's a lot less busy than the nearby Garden of the Gods, if you're looking for a slightly quieter place to hike.

Colorado's most legendary 14'er. You can drive all the way to the top (I believe reservations are necessary) and there's a new visitor center at the peak. Beautiful, sweeping views of the whole area.

Garden of the Gods would be my #1 recommendation to people visiting the area. Gorgeous views, there are lots of trails but also paved sidewalks so it can be as easy or hard of hiking as you'd like it to be. It does get crowded so you can go early to avoid them.
