This is our favorite spot because of their boards! We ride our bikes into Duck, walk along the boardwalk that runs along the sound and enjoy the evening sunset. Even if you don't make it here, it's still worth checking out a picture of what their board looks like on their website or facebook page.

There is an outdoor seating area with a bar, an outdoor wood fired grill and live music. Dress is casual, the food is excellent! We like the corn on the cob and steamed shrimp from the outdoor grill.

Corolla is known for driving on the beach and seeing the wild horses! It's worth the trip just to drive around the neighborhoods on the sandy roads.

This is a low key calm shallow water place to hang if you have little ones. Moms and dads can feel safe because the sound is warm, not deep, no waves, no current, and usually other little ones to play with.

There's usually a festival, concert, or event going on here. But if not, enjoy walking around the park. There are boardwalks along the water and well-maintained landscaping.

Manteo is worth the trip! Its small and quaint downtown has shops, boutiques, restaurants on the water, The Lost Colony Brewery, lots of places to ride bikes, a playground, a boardwalk along the water and more. One of our favorite things to is to jump of the downtown Manteo bridge. You will most likely see lots of others doing it also. The bridge leads to The Roanoke Island venue where they hold concerts, festivals, and more. Manteo also offers The Lost Colony production which is quite the show with professional talent from around the world. The Elizabethian Gardens offers seasonal activities ~ The Christmas Lights being a high"light" :)

The bridge leads to The Roanoke Island venue where they hold concerts, festivals, and more. Manteo also offers The Lost Colony production which is quite the show with professional talent from around the world. The Elizabethian Gardens offers seasonal activities ~ The Christmas Lights being a high"light" :)

Kitty Hawk Landing is a hidden gem. You can see it off to the right as you cross the bridge entering the OBX! Our neighborhood gets the amazing views of the sunrise and the sunset. There are well maintained wide bike paths for most of our areas. You can ride from our home to Bay Drive (which is gorgeous and off the beaten path) to the Wright Brothers Memorial and further. In Kitty Hawk Landing - if you go down to the end of Ivy Lane to the culdisac, (which is the road you enter the neighborhood on) you will find a walkway to Shell Beach. It's our private beach. You may spend the entire day alone or you may see an occasional neighbor or person riding out on their boat. This strip of land is amazing to walk down and have coffee on, spend the day there or watch the sunset over the Albemarle Sound. Our neighbors in KHL like to gather at the boat ramp in the evenings during the sunset for a glass of wine, feel free to join!
