Try the Rip Curls! The pizza is good too, but I always get a toasted steak and cheese sub w/french fries. Can't resist. And it's within walking distance OR delivery takes about 10-15 minutes usually!

Downtown Manteo is a lovely, quaint area. Lots of shops and eateries. Beautiful historical places to discover as well such as, Fort Raleigh, Festival Park (museum & historical area) & the NC Aquarium! A good local's tip is try not to visit the aquarium on a rainy day. That's when ALL the visitors go!

Downtown Manteo is a lovely, quaint area. Lots of shops and eateries. Beautiful historical places to discover as well such as, Fort Raleigh, Festival Park (museum & historical area) & the NC Aquarium! A good local's tip is try not to visit the aquarium on a rainy day. That's when ALL the visitors go!
Some fun places to visit in Nags Head are:
Jockey's Ridge State Park! The very best time to go is after dinner (maybe after some ice cream too) on an evening that isn't too windy! Walk up and enjoy beautiful views of the sound AND sea, get some good exercise and watch have a race up one side and down another!
Across Highway 158 from Jockey's Ridge is Kitty Hawk Kites. Great unique shopping and fun place to grab a kite to go fly on Jockey's Ridge!

Respecting the ocean & keeping our beaches clean
Make sure you understand what a rip current is and how to escape one. Always swim near an ocean lifeguard. Ask them to tell you what to do in the case of emergency.
Always fill in deep holes that you dig in the sand at the beach. Some folks dig a deep hole, have fun playing in it, then leave it for unsuspecting emergency vehicles to get damaged in, a sea turtle to fall into and not make it back to sea, or it can collapse and suffocate visitors. All of these things have happened before. Please be aware!
If you visit the wild horses up in Corolla, don't feed them or try to touch them!
