A more remote beach experience where you can walk the dunes and explore the natural beauty of the Outer Banks. Make sure to take plenty of water! You’ll cross the big Oregon Inlet bridge and new jug handle bridge which themselves provide nice views of the water and inlets.

A fun day or half-day trip that provides a different small-town experience than you’ll get here on the beach. About a 30 minute drive from us. Manteo has a small marina based downtown with shops & restaurants along with several other things to do away from the downtown area, such as Elizabethan Gardens, Island Farm or the NC Aquarium. A long day down south can be very fun if you’re prepared (full tank of gas, a packed cooler, snacks, sunscreen, etc) If you plan to drive on the beach make sure to secure a beach driving permit before hand, it is much cheaper than the fine for driving on the beach without one! If it’s something you are interested in you can look into chartering a fishing boat to go offshore fishing for the day out of Oregon Inlet fishing center.

A great little island to explore and anice ferry ride over. Plan to leave early am. It will be a long day trip or possibly a good overnight trip if you can swing it . Definitely hit Edwardo’s Taco truck!

Wild horse tours, mansions, some good shopping & food. Beautiful drive up, but could encounter traffic on weekends or during rush hours. Pretty packed in Summer months. Need a beach permit to drive on 4x4 beaches (Carova)
