Sights for all ages

We love to go and watch the fish and the penguins as well as the all of the other species. They do have an area where, at timed intervals, you can touch some the starfish, as well as other talks throughout the day on different species. There is an interactive floor which the toddlers love too. They do have a coffee shop at the entrance which is better than the one as you go around (more choice), however in the small cafe within the exhibition there is seating for you to eat your own food too.

The Hall has lovely gardens, and a great space for all to explore. The kids love to run round the garden and look at everything. There is also a park, and the Hall itself is open to the public. Brodsworth Hall is about a 40 minute drive.

Fountains Abbey is a lovely day out for everyone to explore the ruins, and also to visit the water gardens. There is also an amazing park at near the entrance, which we visit at the end of teh day with an ice cream and a cup of tea! It is both national Trust and English Heritage. There is a steep hill to walk down/back up - but with some strength, and between 2 of us, we managed to get a double buggy round with an infant and a 4yr old in it! The kids absolutely loved having the freedom to explore the ruins.

Sightseeing

If visiting York the Minster is definitely worth a visit. Even if its just to walk around the outside to take in its size and beauty, even better if you have time to go inside. York is around a 30 minute drive, but this is all dependant on traffic. There are several Park and Ride sites around the outskirts that can take you in to the centre, as city parking can be expensive (dependent on the number of travellers)
