1st Day - Funchal - You can start on foot at Casino da Madeira, go down through Santa Catarina park. Afterwards, visiting the company “Henriques de Oliveira” is the best place to taste and buy wines. You can also stop by Fábrica de Santo António to taste the typical sweets of Madeira and buy some souvenirs for friends and family. Finally, you can take a walk down Rua Fernão Ornelas: there's the embroidery shop, which is very pretty. Then go to the market “Mercado dos Lavradores”, I recommend the 2nd floor : A very friendly and honest family works at Tent 37. Then you can have lunch in the “Old Town” of the city and right after take the cable car, visit the garden of Palácio do Monte / tropical garden / botanical garden and then go down in the Basket Cart. *The botanical is best suited for those who really like botany and want to see Madeira’s endemic plants. 2nd Day - tour of the West Zone of the island - mandatory visit to Encumeada, Fanal, Ribeira da Janela, Seixal and Porto Moniz (natural pools). 3rd Day - walk to visit the waterfalls - you can start at “Risco”; go up to “Lagoa do Vento”, then “Dona Beja” and finally cross “Levada do Alecrim” I think ”Risco” and “Lagoa do Vento” are the most beautiful. You can stop the car at “Rabaçal” and then go down, you can visit 4 or choose two or three. This area is all marked. 4th Day - morning excursion to see the dolphins. I recommend the H20 in the calheta. In the afternoon, departure to Fajã dos Padres - by boat or cable car. 5th Day - walk on “Ponta de São Lourenço”, lunch in Caniçal (seafood or fish !!) and then visit Cristo Rei do Garajau and take the cable car down to the beach. Day 6 - Visit Camacha, lunch at “Abrigo do Pastor” which is very good, .. then head to the Ribeiro Frio area: you can take a walk from “Balcões” and in “Santana” you can go to “Parque das Queimadas”. 7th Day – watch the sunrise at the “Miradouro do Guindaste” and do the “Vereda da Penha D’Águia”. The walk lasts 3 hours, so in the afternoon you can visit “Curral das Freiras” or “Câmara de Lobos”. Also “Cabo Girão”, our highest viewpoint.
