Museum of Modern Art Goulandris
A small museum with great international collections. Every year the museum hosts new collections from all the museums throughout the world and the private collectors
The entrance fee is 5 euros per person and with the same ticket you can visit the diagonally neighbering museum too. The duration of the exibition is from mid June till the end of September.
Chora is bilt on a peninsula between Nimborio and Paraporti seashores.. It has a long and great history from the old times. The houses are bilt the one on top of the other reminding you the South-Mediterranean architecture. the houses have a colourful "voisinage" .
You will be fascinated with the remnants of the Venetian Castle. The large square up from the sea is overlooked by the statue of "The Unknown Sailor" made by M. Tobros and dedicated to all those lost in the sea.

Small boutiques and shops give you the opportunity to buy souvenirs for your beloved.

Public transportation is not to be trusted.
If you intend to stay more than 2-3 days on the island I suggest you rent a car as soon as you make your room reservation. On your arrival you will not easily find a car to rent if it is end of July and the whole of August.
The distance from Gavrio to Ormos Korthiou is 40km. and the taxi charge is 40-50euros (one way) .
