Piazza Square is located in the heart of the Old City on King Pharnavaz Street. It opened in 2010 after being restored as part of the city's old neighborhood rehabilitation program. The author of the project was the Georgian architect Vazha Orbeladze, who decided to create a corner of Italy in the capital of Adjara. The result is something similar to Piazza San Marco in Venice. Italian scenery perfectly fit into the historical part of the city. Facades of low houses on the square are decorated with stained glass paintings and mosaic patterns. Today Piazza is the largest venue for cultural events in the city, as well as a place with the best restaurants, bars and clubs in Batumi. The area is closed to traffic, so it is ideal for relaxing walks.

One of the attractions of the Old Town is the Argo cable car. Its lower station and ticket offices are located on Gogebashvili Street, not far from the port of Batumi. Built in 2013, it became the longest in Georgia. Its length is 2.5 kilometers. The cabin covers this distance in about 15 minutes. At a height of fifty meters, there is an excellent view of the port, the Ferris wheel and other coastal facilities. In total, 20 cabins with soft benches and transparent walls operate on the cable car. If the starting station of the road is located on the coast in the Old Town area, then the final one is located on Mount Anuria at an altitude of 250 meters, where there is an observation deck, a small restaurant, a souvenir shop and even a church.
