For a unique experiance you will not soon forget, one of our favorite eats is Casa de la langosta. Chef Mike will cook you and your guest the best lobster around, at a semi private beach front restraunt . caution, things get a little crazy here, and food takes awhile to get sometmes. Not recommended for quick eats or starving people. If you have time to sit back and relax, maybe swim with some turtles, enjoy a hammak, or have drinks with friends, i have some of my fondest memories here for sure! this is not an upscale experiance, but it is an experiance none the less! Tips: bring your own drinks! and cups?!

for a fantastic lunch or dinner, this little seafood restaurant is fantastic! Great to grab some shrimp tacos with Garlic sauce, to go and head to the beach and enjoy!

Packing musts!
Basics:
Clothing: cool, light colored, clothing - its the beach, you do not need to dress to impress here. This is a more relaxed area with very few establishments which you would feel underdressed at.
* bring 2 or 3 outfits per day if you enjoy the beach or water.
* there are a few dancing spots in town, and attire is anywhere from casual to Latin sexy.
* You will fit in at any restaurant with beach casual attire.
Sun/skin care- Mahahual doesn't have what I would call any decent products available for skin/hair/after sun, etc. make sure you bring your

Live for the day
Live for the day, this is Mahahuals motto I think. Relax, take your shoes off, dance in the rain, be a kid again, fall in love, or relax in style. No one cares what your doing other than you, so do whatever makes you happy! Want to fit in, just smile!

swimming dangers
Please use caution when using pools, cenotes, and the ocean! Ask your host or other professionals about any dangers you need to watch out for. Do not assume dangers are clearly marked, there are no lifeguards generally, wear a lifevest! Do not swim alone. If a rip tide trys to pull you out to sea, simply swim sideways instead of towards the beach. you can't fight a rip current, but you can easily get out of it by swimming a few feet. Rip currents pull in the direction away from the beach. think of it like a small powerfull stream about 15 feet wide.
