Great food and service served quickly and with a smile. Downstairs does not have the atmosphere of the ground floor but still worth sitting down there if there is no space up top. The food was tasty, hot and good value for money.

CUISINES: Mediterranean, Spanish It is a modest bar, kinda roots. Nice beer, GREAT SNAILS with a fantastic sauce. Don't be picky, give it a try! They are obviously raised for thstt specific purpose and NOT taken out of the streets. You should try also their papas bravas ( fried potatoes with spicy sauce). People come back just for the snails. The owner Amadeo walked in and he greeted everyone and was such a cheerful friendly guy.

Tapas Bar. Specialized in navajas, boquerones, calamares, zamburinas, sardinas....summarized, all the nice seafood served as tapas in a loud bar, crowded, typically spanish, well priced This place is buzzing, cheap and delicious. Good, tapas and people. The beer is cold as the razor clams are the best you will find in Madrid.

Mercado de la Cebada: the 138-year-old Madrid market that stays true to its roots Mercado de la Cebada has been through some ups and downs over the last couple of centuries, but what didn’t kill it made it adapt. It’s one of Madrid’s only markets to have kept up with the times while also staying true to its roots, and this determined attitude echoes that of Madrid itself. http://madridnofrills.com/the-real-mercado-de-la-cebada/

Housed in a gigantic neo-classical building begun by Juan de Villanueva for King Carlos III in 1785, the Prado is Madrid's best-known attraction. Carlos originally wanted to establish a museum of natural sciences, reflecting one of his chief interests, but by the time it opened in 1819, this plan had changed: the Prado was a public art museum – one of the world's first – displaying the royal art collection. Spain's 'non-king', José Bonaparte, had first proposed the idea and it was taken up by the restored King Fernando VII (grandson of Carlos III), who took on board the demands of the Real Academia de Bellas Artes and those of his second wife, María Isabel de Braganza, considered the museum'

La Latina is Madrid's quintessential neighbourhood for beer on tap, tapas, mojitos and terraces, much to the chagrin of some who live nearby. At weekends it's nearly impossibe to find a spot to squeeze into the jam-packed bars and restaurants to get lunch or dinner, although on workdays it's a regular, everyday part of the city, with locals shopping at the Mercado de la Cebada and kids playing in any of the numerous squares. Don't miss having a look at the beautiful churches and basilicas hidden in the narrow streets.

The coolest neighbourhood in the world 2018 Madrid might be the world’s most exciting capital right now, and Embajadores is its most colourful neighbourhood. This is a place where people from near and far live side by side, cooking up a bustling cultural life. To the north, Plaza Tirso de Molina is the territory of florists by day, and at night fills with young revellers queuing to get into Medias Puri, the city’s club of the moment. To the south are Tabacalera and La Casa Encendida, two huge cultural centres standing like transatlantic vessels run ashore in the middle of the city.

This neighbourhood is a good representation of the fusion of cultures Madrid has experienced in recent years. It’s always been a humble area, where, until the ’80s, mostly elderly people lived in the ‘corralas’, buildings whose apartment doors open up onto an interior patio of sorts, very typical in old Madrid. Currently, thanks to cheaper rental prices in comaparison to other parts of the city and to the multicultural aspect of the area, younger people have moved in and live together with the older locals and among residents of some 88 different nationalities.

This famous square is in the heart of the city's historic district, built on the site of the old Plaza del Arrabal, which was home to the most popular market in the late 15th century. It was Felipe II who in 1580 commissioned Juan de Herrera with the project to remodel the square, although it would be Juan Gómez de Mora who would finish the job in 1619.
