Playas de Tijuana

An upper-middle class enclave of Tijuana separated by a canyon from TJ proper. Playas is Spanish for Beaches, and this area operates at a slower pace than Downtown. It boasts stunning views all the way to San Diego, as well as a lovely Boardwalk and beach area with an ambience that will leave no doubt that you're no longer Stateside as you sip piña coladas, and enjoy shrimp on a stick as well as other Botanas brought to you by the peddlers. There are many options there for dinner as well. If you are longing for something more American, you have Wal-Mart, Thrifty Ice Cream, an IHOP, KFC, and Carl's Jr nearby.

Then take a walk along the Boardwalk, buy some souvenirs, go down to the beach and buy some Botanas from the peddlers, maybe a cup of Mango with Chamoy, some Tostilocos, fresh Churros, or a Piña Colada. Check out the art along the way to the infamous Wall separating Playas from Imperial Beach, CA. If your into seafood, try one of the seafood places at the end, such as Los Arcos. There are also Veggie -friendly options like Huerto Urbano, and more traditional Sunset Bar and Grill or enjoy the sunset at Red Hat Pizza. if you feel like aa bar and grill come nightspot, try La Cerve.
