The best brunch place on the strip! Delicious egg baskets and crumpets with bacon and maple syrup. They also have wonderful fresh juice (order a big jug of Watermelon juice if you can - its off the menu ;)
For lunch their pies and salads are super satisfying.
They have the best flourless chocolate cake in the world - literally incredible.
Cosy inside seating when its chilly - or picturesque pavement seating under leafy shade when the sun is out.
You can book a long table and 'high tea' for big groups.
Watch out - Nice closes at 4pm and is closed on Mondays.

They have fabulous cocktails as well as a reliable (and interesting) wine list. For starters try their home made Pork Rilettes on crunchy wafers (you can buy some to take home at the Service Station Deli down the road). The portions are generous so you can get away with one main and one starter if there are two of you (and you are not that hungry). Sharing is the name of the game here.
The Pata Plate is incredible - yes you should add the smoked Chicken - but basically you can order anything and be happy in this gem.
It can get pretty packed in the evening (they are only open for lunch on Saturdays and are closed Sundays and Mondays). If you prefer a quieter table pick one outside or round the corner in the smaller dining area.

My favourite SA chain restaurant - Piza e Vino has beautiful interiors, great pizza, good wine and friendly service. The Zone in Rosebank has great outside seating. Inside is also cosy in the evening. Rosebank is very cosmopolitan and a great example of the 'new' South Africa.
These guys have the best Gluten Free pizza bases in the country (trust me - it's been a personal mission).
Favourite flavour: The Melrose Arch.
Favourite red wine (good value): The Gander Shiraz

Sundowners overlooking the infinity pool. This is hands down the most impressive and beautiful hotel in the city. Surely the best example of 90's interior design in existence.
Drive up to the (huge and intimidating) wooden gate and let the doorman know you would like to visit the bar.
Wander through the beautiful foyer to the pool bar. They have a fabulous wine list and great cocktails (Dry Martini or a Basil Grande are favourites). Don't forget to request the bar snacks - they are major.
Visit the spa for an incredible luxury treat.
The Saxon Hotel
Station RoadSundowners overlooking the infinity pool. This is hands down the most impressive and beautiful hotel in the city. Surely the best example of 90's interior design in existence.
Drive up to the (huge and intimidating) wooden gate and let the doorman know you would like to visit the bar.
Wander through the beautiful foyer to the pool bar. They have a fabulous wine list and great cocktails (Dry Martini or a Basil Grande are favourites). Don't forget to request the bar snacks - they are major.
