Nearly every building block in Sluseholmen is surrounded by water connected to the harbor. You will be living on the island called Egholm. Just around the corner (west) a big staircase goes down to the water. Here it is popular to sit on the stairs and enjoy a glas of wine in the evening sun and eat take’a’ways from the local pizza, delicious sushi or thai food from the local restaurants. Many people takes a ride on their paddle boards or take a swim in the clean water in the dedicated areas for swimming. Just a few hundred meters from the apartment (at Teglholmen over the big bridge) you can take the harbor bus (an electric driven passenger ferry) to the city center, Nyhavn, Reffen or the opera. All the streets in Sluseholmen are named by famous jazz musicians that have lived and played in Copenhagen for a period of time. You will be living on the street named by Dexter Gordon (“Vej” means street) (“Sluse” = lock) (“holm” = island)

In the northern end of Copenhagen harbor you will find a really exciting street food market. You will sit outside the stalls and raw containers and enjoy food from many different country’s. This is only recommended in god weathers as you will sit outside. You can easily go to Reffen from Sluseholmen by the harbor bus (little passenger ferry). (only open in the summer season) If you like food markets and the weather is bad we recommend Tivoli Food Hall or Torvehallerne instead. (Also open in winter season)

The harbor bus (“Havnebussen”)

A small electric passenger ferry is a fun and relaxing way to transport and see the city from the canals. The price and system is the same for ordinary buses and the subway “Metro”
