Hipster deli, food is excellently innovative. Pick up at the counter, eat at bar stools or on wooden boxes on the patio. As you leave the parking lot, don't miss the large mural in the alley. You will have to pass through the homeless encampments surrounding Gold's Gym to get to the parking lot though.

Vegan Italian. I normally order the chop salad, which is large enough for two. I also like the truffle pizza and lasagna, but it's all good! Good selection of wine as well. Grab an outside table if you can. Inside is like a dining hall. Take out and have a picnic on the beach. Pro tip: If you get the chop salad to go, have them toss the dressing rather than giving it to you on the side in plastic cups.

There is also a location on Venice Blvd where street parking is easier and free, although there is a metered lot in the alley behind the east side of Abbot Kinney.

Great place to view the sunset, especially in the winter when the sun drops into the Pacific or in spring when it drops behind Pt Dume. It's also a the best way to walk to the Promenade or the Pier. It starts at the end of Entrada and runs nearly the whole length of Santa Monica, so you can't get lost. In the evening the historic carousel on the Pier lights the way. The art pieces along the way are almost a distraction from the main event which is the spectacular view of the Bay. It could be my favorite place on earth!

Park in Structure 6 on 2nd St between Arizona and Broadway for DTSM. First 90 mins free. Ocean Avenue to Broadway turn left onto Second.
Be very careful anywhere around the Promenade. Tickets are freely given but costly. I recommend walking thru Palisades Park to the Promenade or Pier and uber-ing back to the Pied-a-Terre.
