There are few places that can still be called a real Colorado ski town, and Crested Butte is one of them. When you walk around town, you’ll feel it in the unparalleled views and the meticulously preserved false-front buildings reminiscent of its mining days.
There are no traffic lights, no chain stores and no high-rise buildings. Yet you’ll quickly see there’s no shortage of entertainment and dining options-all run by some of the most welcoming people you’ll ever meet.

Skyland is located about two miles south of the Town of Crested Butte, and is home to the Club at Crested Butte, a country club facility featuring a Robert Trent Jones designed golf course, and a year round tennis facility. (Mostly Member Club). Skyland is the starting point for great adventures like hiking, biking and skiing!

Layers, layers, layers!
Even in the middle of summer, it can get chilly at night. Make sure you have layers and are prepared for anything. Crested Butte can see rain showers in the afternoons so be prepared. Just have layers for your visit.

Hydrate
At almost 9,000 feet in elevation (3,000 meters), there is risk of altitude sickness. Drink lots of water, limit caffeine and alcohol. If you feel sick, seek medical attention.
