Sightseeing
Experience the wide open, ocean swept beaches to feel like you're really getting away from it all. Firstly you walk along a boardwalk through beautiful jungle and then end up on the beautiful coastline. Highly recommend walking all the way, along the water, to Cahuita (it's take about 2 hours for a nice stroll). Reward yourself with an ice cream or pub lunch at the beachfront restaurant.

We're so lucky to have Gypsea so close, just a gentle stroll down Lapaluna's lane. Super tranquil garden setting, with minimal seating so it never feels overrun. A breakfast place top notch food and refreshing natural juices. Plenty of healthy options...and then also straight up delicious house burger. Also recommend the Eggs Mexicana.

GypSea Café | Playa Chiquita
We're so lucky to have Gypsea so close, just a gentle stroll down Lapaluna's lane. Super tranquil garden setting, with minimal seating so it never feels overrun. A breakfast place top notch food and refreshing natural juices. Plenty of healthy options...and then also straight up delicious house burger. Also recommend the Eggs Mexicana.
A dinner place. A personal favorite of your hosts at Lapaluna. The Best Fish. But also lots of other delectable things on the menu. Be careful when your kids catch on to how good the lobster is. I would be amiss to not mention the tranquil setting of the place...surrounded by garden, you're on the lower part of a Carribean style wooden house. They got the lighting right too.

256A dinner place. A personal favorite of your hosts at Lapaluna. The Best Fish. But also lots of other delectable things on the menu. Be careful when your kids catch on to how good the lobster is. The food is...well you'll just have to indulge. For those that like it spicy: you will especially find this good eating.
Really neat decor, old school Carribean wood construction and super ambient. And then the food...just reward them taste buds. If you're lucky they have a DJ that plays super chill Indian sounds in the background. They also have a pool table great for killing time before the food arrives.

For those that like Carribean BBQ don't even go any further. Recommended to take bug spray as the restaurant is right on the jungle and so there can be midges on less breezy days. Fully worth it for the food though.

The La Leyenda wood fired oven churns out delicious thin crust pizza with toppings right out of the Italian recipe book. You can even order it in (although that seems a bit lazy given it's that close).

The La Leyenda wood fired oven churns out delicious thin crust pizza with toppings right out of the Italian recipe book. You can even order it in (although that seems a bit lazy given it's that close).

The Take it Easy food wagon right on Cocles beach is a must must must if you want to indulge in jerk chicken, fish or vegetables. Chris conjures his own great Carribean style hot sauce too, which makes for a delectable culinary souvenir if you can stand to give it away. And his fresh made, ice cold, ginger or hibiscus juice is a treat on a hot day, especially paired with the food. But seriously, you haven't had The Best Carribean Food until you been here. He only operates on the weekend though...don't miss it!
