Note: "Cock-A-Doodle Zoo" is now called "Sustainable Safari."
A permanent petting zoo at the Maplewood Mall, this is an absolute must see if you are visiting as a family, though its supers fun for adults, too! They have kangaroos, wallabies, lemurs, porcupines, and a daily animal show. You can pay a little extra to hold a baby kangaroo!

The Como Conservatory is a magnificent indoor garden along with an outdoor Japanese garden. The "Sunken Garden" in the conservatory is one of my all time favorite places in the Twin Cities: a. must see display of flowers.
The Como zoo is small but intimate. Both the zoo and conservatory are admission by donation.
