Arts & Culture

high tech architecture just a few minutes from the flat! Great views at the top of the tower along with a world class dining experience (if you'd prefer) that overlooks the city. There's also a great smaller bistro below the tower with a nice garden setting.

Drinks & Nightlife

Large selection of beers from around Europe. Taps are constantly changed so you can sample different beers. Very relaxed atmosphere and great chicken wings.

Food Scene

A must visit for typical Czech food and a typical Czech pub experience. Usually packed with people so either try and go early or call to make reservations. Don't wait to be seated, take a look around and find a seat that doesn't have a reservation card on it. If you choose an entree, expect to receive recommendations for sides from the waiter which you can agree to or not but choosing an untypical side for a dish can be considered rude.

Great typical Czech Cuisine and cheap beer. The best combination! Order the Svickova (a Czech specialty with dumplings and meat in a delicious gravy sauce) and a Pilsner and you'll be living the life. Like in most Czech restaurants, water is NOT free, so be prepared to pay if you order.

My favorite coffee shop in the area. Brewing fresh coffee in a super hip atmosphere. Delicious pastries and avocado toast with great customer service.

A great place for authentic Czech Cuisine. The menu is fresh and usually offers seasonal selections. It's also a brewery and offers great beer. Lots of seating downstairs for dinner or enjoy a beer outside.

Essentials

The nearest grocery store. Pretty large selection along with a good selection of Mexican and Asian cooking products (not typically found in most groceries stores in Prague). TIP: you bag your own groceries in the Czech Republic, so make sure you're bagging as the teller is scanning or else you'll hold up the line.

A great grocery store with bio necessities and healthy, fresh produce. Similar to a "Trader Joes" in the States.

Sightseeing

A must see if you're visiting Prague. It's free to enter the castle courtyards and walk around the small cobblestone streets surrounding the castle. St. Vitus Cathedral is also free to enter. Get there early or during the week to avoid crowds.

This stop on the green line metro offers much to see (not to mention the longest escalator of any country in the EU). Kostel svaté Ludmily is in the square offering an ode to neo-gothic architecture. The church as beautiful sculptures within along with great paintings. The square is also home to many festivals over the weekend.

My personal favorite over the Prague Castle. A beautiful castle ground and fort that has the Vysehrad cemetery, Basilica of St Peter and St Paul. The oldest building in Prague is also here Rotunda of St Martin from the 11th century. Beautiful views of the city and not as crowded with tourists like the Prague castle. It's possible to enjoy sights of this large area in peace and quiet without being shoved around by crowds of people.
