Hike
Take the boat from downtown and cruise to Rangitoto volcano. A gentle climb through lava fields and New Zealand Nature. Count approximately one hour to reach the summit. Allow extra time to explore the lava caves on the way back. Rangitoto is a reserve so pack water and snacks

Parking spot in CBD
I highly recommend to take a scooter or a uber as I find it very difficult to find a parking space downtown, it is also quite expensive. If you really need your car and need to go downtown park at Silo Park you can get 1 hour of free parking.

Auckland weather.
Don’t forget Auckland is well known for her 4 seasons in 1 day. Specifically from May till October. So be prepared as temperature can rise or drop very quickly and a rainy day can become sunny in a sec.
