Port Moody is best known for this park; you can enjoy the Burrard Inlet from the recreational pier, hike along the Shoreline Trail, rent a kayak or paddleboard, enjoy fish and chips and an icecream cone, or sit on the patio at a waterfront restaurant. If you have children, they will love visiting the playground and water park (open from 9am-8pm daily, weather permitting, from mid May until September).

Buntzen Lake will not disappoint! We love to hike around Buntzen Lake, and we often enjoy a leisurely walk around the trail that loops around the lake as it passes through scenic forests, offers several views of the lake, crosses a suspension bridge, and passes the quieter beach at the north end.

Regardless of your ability, you’ll love this easy and scenic trail that takes you to a stunning waterfall that drains into the Coquitlam River. This trail is great for people of all ages and abilities! (It recently took us 2.5 hours to complete this hike with our baby and toddler.)

There are a couple of great sandy beaches around this lake, but we prefer White Pine Beach. It is a family-friendly spot to swim, soak up the sun, and enjoy a lovely wee picnic.

Food scene
To say that we love this restaurant would be an enormous understatement. We looooooooove this restaurant. Everything on their menu is divine, but our personal favourites are the double smoked pizza and the caprese burrata salad.

Known for their sweet and savoury crostatas, Gabi and Jules will dazzle you with their fabulous baked goods and electric hot pink decor. When people visit us, we always take them here for a latte and a treat. If you have a sweet tooth like I do, you’ll also swoon over their sandwich cookies!
