The best Baja-style fish tacos you've ever had (probably). Delicious, moist crispy fish cooked just right-and cheap to boot! A must-try in the area.

Drinks & Nightlife

The diviest of dive bars. The owners are fun, brash, and maybe a little rude at times but that's part of the "charm." Go for cheap-ish drinks and karaoke.

Pretty much the opposite of the other bar listed below...very pretty interior (I think it was an old bank building?), good food, and a patio. Happy hour goes until 6pm. There are lots of other options across the street and in the area including 4100 and Bar Stella.

It's a multi-room 1920's style saloon and music venue. Check their calendar online for comedy nights, dance parties and more. The taco truck that parks outside is also pretty good.

A small park that often hosts interesting events. From their website: "Hollyhock House is Frank Lloyd Wright’s first Los Angeles project. Built between 1919 and 1921, it represents his earliest efforts to develop a regionally appropriate style of architecture for Southern California. Wright himself referred to it as California Romanza, using a musical term meaning “freedom to make one’s own form”."

Grocery store within (just under a mile) walking distance just up Hyperion boulevard. But if you don't have a car or feel like going full LA by refusing to walk anywhere--take comfort, they also deliver! Find lots of organic food, quality meat/dairy and delicious pre-made snacks (definitely a bit pricier). Also has a little sandwich shop inside.
