Great patrolled beach for your summer swim! The beach season commences in September/October school holidays and closes for winter in April .A beachfront kiosk also operates in the summer months .When the tide is low you can explore the caves and the rock platforms. If you follow the staircase to top of the cliffs you will see some spectacular views from the lookout. You can also follow the stretch of beach to the north and enjoy a leisurely stroll to Hams and Frenchmans beach.
** Please note that while dogs are welcome at the lookout they are not permitted on the beach or in the caves. They are welcome at both Hams and Frenchmans which are the middle and North end of the Caves Beach strip

The path now leads to the newly installed boardwalk and you can enjoy a easy walk through the marshes down to the far end of the point. Great spot for bird watching or just enjoying the views of the lake

Such a beautiful spot to explore! Catherine Hill Bay is a small beachside village that was once a 19th century mining town . The coal mine site has been replaced by a housing development but the coal loading wharf is still there for you to see and original miners cottages still line the single road into the village.When the tide is low you can walk under the jetty to explore the rock pools and see the coal seams amongst the cliff face. If you park at the North end of the beach you can explore the old cemetery that dates back until 1896 before discovering the beautiful rock platforms below.Some if the oldest monuments can be found in the bush area on the edge of the sand dunes.The whole beach is full of old relics and pieces of our history. Ian and I regularly head out and enjoy a BBQ breakfast picnic on the cliffs overlooking the beach before we enjoy a beach walk with Pip. The North end of the beach is always pet friendly but in summer when the beach is patrolled, the south end near the jetty and surf club is not. BBQs/picnic facilities and amenties are located at the south end of the beach. You wont find shopping opportunities at Catherine Hill Bay but you will find serenity and a popular surfing beach. You can grab a cold beverage and a meal at the historical Catherne Hill Bay pub or if you prefer, a coffee from newly established Coastal Haze Cafe.

Warners Bay is approx 20 minutes drive around the lake. One of its main feature is its foreshore walking path that hugs the lake and runs from Eleebana to Speerspoint . You will also find markets on the foreshore on the third Saturday of every month. Warners Bay is a popular daytime dining spot as it has a strip of cafes and takeaway options. My favourite coffee is from Brennans in the arcade and of course there just happens to be a great dog treat shop in the same arcade that our dog Pip loves to visit.

Croudace Bay (Thomas Halton Park)leash free dog park is right on the lake and incorporates a shared walking path surrounding a large grassed area. Park itself is a popular picnic/bbq and boating spot that has amenties, a childs playground and a skate park. Since the expansion of the park there is now both timed and untimed spots for our furbabies to play! Thomas Halton Park is dog friendly at all times but dogs can run leash free from sunrise to 10am and from 4pm to sunset daily in the main area of the park. If visiting the park outside of these times, they do need to be leashed.There is a great shared path which Pip and I have looped many times! They have now added an enclosed area to the park which is unleashed at all times and a great place for social furbabies. You will find this area in the south end of the park, not far from the skate park. It is approx a 15 minute drive but it is a great park with a friendly ,dog loving community.
