Built in 1911 by Dr. Charles H. Mayo, this historic 38-room mansion was home to three generations of the famous family. The 5-story, stone structure now boasts an extensive decorative arts collection, gorgeous gardens, and antique furnishings from French, Spanish, German, and American cultures. General tours are scheduled Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays (March-October), with a seasonal Christmas tour in November and December.

Skyways and subways are fastest to get around the city.
It never dips below 68 degrees in Rochester thanks to it's climate controlled skyway and underground walkways, otherwise known as subways. Businesses, hotels, shops, and dining are all accessible without ever having to step outdoors in the winter. General hours of the skyway and subway are noted below, however, please check your specific route to ensure accessibility. Many portions of the system are privately owned and managed and may be open at different times than noted below.

Rochester Downtown Farmers Market is available year round in different locations. The outdoor market is a great place to get fresh, local food-but its also a fantastic place to enjoy the sunshine, meet up with friends, and enjoy the musicians.

The Plummer Building - Mayo Clinic Historical Suite
he Plummer building is an architectural masterpiece that is still in use by the Mayo Clinic after nearly a century. The offices of the Mayo brothers are perfectly preserved and you get a phenominal sense of their contributions to the world of medicine and to humanity.

Give Aldi a try. They have some unique Authentic German foods there. And, there is a dollar store next door to it. We have two Walmart stores in town as well.
