Sports

Popular resort for both advanced and beginner snow sports during winter months. In summer, this resort has world-class mountain biking, as well as hiking and golf. Angel Fire has doubled the size of its bike park in recent years to become the largest in the Rocky Mountains. They now offer over 60 miles of dedicated trail among one of the most comprehensive on-mountain bike trail systems in North America. This is the place to head when you have a group with diverse interests and talents since it has jump lines and burns for freestyle riders; bumpy steeps for downhill enthusiasts; and three long, winding pushes that are perfect for beginners and families.

Best trailhead is accessed through Taos Ski Valley. 6-ish (total) hour hike and should be started at least 3 hours before noon. You must summit by noon to avoid storms in the afternoon. Fairly intense hike due to altitude.

Brewery

Great spot for craft-brewed beer. Not a great place to eat unless you only want calamari. Believe it or not the calamari is really very good. The other things on the menu are pretty rough sad to say. Still a good place for a beer and local flavor

Yanınızda getirmeniz gerekenler

Pack warm clothes!

In summer months, northern New Mexico can get very chilly at night. Pack warm clothes to wear in the evenings. Daytime temperatures rarely reach a high of 80 and nighttime temps are usually close to the 40's. The cabin is located nearly 9,000 feet above sea level. Many people are sensitive to the thin air of higher elevations. STAY HYDRATED. In the dry low humidity of the area you sometimes don't feel thirsty, but, DRINK WATER. Hydration will ward off the effects of altitude sickness and thinner air. July is the rainy season in this part of NM . If visiting in July bring rain gear.
Gezinme

4WD vehicles & tire chains are necessary in winter months.

Angel Fire accumulates large amounts of snow in the winter. Navigating northern New Mexico and through the canyons is unsafe without 4WD and chains.

Pueblo Land

The cabin's 12 acres back up to the Taos Pueblo land and it is not open to our use. Out of respect for the Pueblo people do not hike or trespass onto their land. There is an old wire fence mostly collapsed now, but that marks the property line.
