A good way to see the city is to take a tour with one of the many harbour sightseeing boats along the many canals in the harbour - you end up seeing the little mermaid as well. On some of the boats you can buy a hop on/hop off ticket, which I highly recommend.

If you are not afraid of heights, you should try to climb the staircase that winds up on the outside of this church. Excellent views of the city. Located in the Chritianshavn quarter which is also a nice part of the city to see, and also near Christiania.
