Some of my top places to wine and dine in the area
The Hayberry is the perfect place if you’re after awesome American-style burgers, as well as craft beers and ciders. It’s a relaxed pub with cool tunes and great food. It’s a short 5 minute walk from my place.
Tip: Try the whipper burger and the agave ginger cider.

If coffee and cakes are your thing, look no further than Kürtősh. This place is perfect if you’re wanting to work on your laptop in peace, or just take some time out to enjoy a coffee.
Tip: Try the fudge cookies and the chocolate brownies.

This modern Asian fusion restaurant is one of my favourite places in Crows Nest. The food is fresh, tasty and different to most Asian cuisine you may have tried. The prices are pretty reasonable, but you’ll be spending a bit more than your average restaurant. The cocktails are well-priced and they even do bottomless froze lunches.

Annata is on the higher-end of restaurants in Crows Nest. It’s a delicious plant-based restaurant with good food and great atmosphere.

Small Bar is a great wine bar with a beautiful courtyard. It’s a nice place to spend the afternoon. The food is tapas-style and very tasty and well-priced. It’s very close to the apartment, about a 5 minute walk.

The Foxtrot is a super trendy bar up the other end of Crows Nest. Known for their cocktails and good tapas-style food, this place is a hipster’s dream! It’s about a 12 minute walk from the apartment, but worth it if you’re after something a bit different.

28 Falcon StThe Foxtrot is a super trendy bar up the other end of Crows Nest. Known for their cocktails and good tapas-style food, this place is a hipster’s dream! It’s about a 12 minute walk from the apartment, but worth it if you’re after something a bit different.
If you’re after a delicious feast of lots and lots of meat, you’ll love BahBQ. It’s an all-you-can-eat Brazilian grill with amazing quality meat. I recommend going for a late lunch, as you won’t be needing dinner afterwards!

35 Albany StIf you’re after a delicious feast of lots and lots of meat, you’ll love BahBQ. It’s an all-you-can-eat Brazilian grill with amazing quality meat. I recommend going for a late lunch, as you won’t be needing dinner afterwards!
Raavi’s Cumin is hands-down the best Indian I’ve ever had before. It’s a bit more expensive than your typical Indian restaurant, but it’s so worth it. Delicious quality, good servings and friendly service. I highly recommend it.

2 Burlington StreetRaavi’s Cumin is hands-down the best Indian I’ve ever had before. It’s a bit more expensive than your typical Indian restaurant, but it’s so worth it. Delicious quality, good servings and friendly service. I highly recommend it.

Cafe 107 is my favourite place to get coffee. They use Campos coffee (always a great start), they’re super quick and the service is amazing. It’s conveniently the closest cafe to the apartment too, being just a short 3 minute stroll.

Bean Drinking is a great local cafe. If you have time to sit down and relax, then I highly recommend it. The coffee and breakfast options are great and you can sit outside by the park.
However I don’t recommend this place for take-away if you’re in a rush, as it can be a bit of a wait.

Activities
Crows Nest shops are really lovely to walk through. There are a range of homewares stores, novelty shops, massage places, spas, clothing stores and even an Aesop (my personal fave).
If you’re after a fun way to spend the day or evening, Cork and Canvas is a great option. You get to paint while you sip wine. What’s better than that? Prices start from $50 per person for a couple of hours. It’s BYO wine.

Balmoral Beach has been voted one of Sydney’s best beaches. It’s easy to get to from Crows Nest by bus. The beach is a great way to spend the day, with fish and chip shops and a place you can rent kayaks from. You’ll love it!

I’m a bit fussy when it comes to massages, and Bodeze never fails to disappoint. Everyone is really great there and the prices are reasonable too. They have a special for a one hour massage with hot stones for $79. This is super close to the apartment, being a 4minute walk.

Coles Crows Nest (located at the Albany) is the closest grocery store to the apartment. It’s a short 5minute walk from the apartment and is quite large. There’s also a cafe above it, as well as a barber if you want to make a trip of it.

If you need to get any medication, the Day Night Chemist at the lower end of Crows Nest shops is closest to the apartment. It’s a brief 5-minute walk. There’s also a Chemist Warehouse a bit further up the road.

Professor Plums is a really fun store for kids. If you need a last-minute present for a child, or have someone to spoil, this is a great option for you. It also has fun novelty presents.

Top 3 by Design is a great designer homewares stores. It has beautiful, unique and innovative pieces. It’s away from the main Crows Nest strip, but still quite close to the apartment.
