Religious Place
It is said that every year, either the Shiva Lingam or his sacred wooden staff gets mysteriously hit by a lightning bolt. The lingam breaks up into pieces and the priest ritually puts it together by using cereal, pulse flour and unsalted butter. After a few months, the lingam takes solid shape like before. According to local belief, the lightning strike is sheer divine grace and divine blessings, which enhance the powers of the Lingam.
