Neighborhoods
First of all the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is the only major seaside amusement park remaining on the West Coast of the United States. It's the oldest amusement park in California. The Boardwalk is located along a scenic mile-long public beach on Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. Fun for the whole family, features two national historic landmarks: the Giant Dipper Roller Coaster and the Looff Carousel.
Seabright neighborhood is very unique in some important ways, fast is becoming a mecca of hipster chic, thanks to its bike shops, home furnishing stores, cafes, restaurants and sweet live music venues. The laid-back Seabright neighborhood, with its sweet choices of bars and eateries also serves as the entryway to Seabright Beach, a long sandy beach between Santa Cruz Harbor and the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and a popular spot for bonfires. The area has a lively nightlife scene with bars and breweries featuring live music, open mics and karaoke. There are also several neighborhood restaurants, shops and businesses.

Food scene
Tramonte is an authentic Italian restaurant a few blocks away. Owned by Italians from Southern Italy. We love the polenta and meatballs as well as the pesto.

Engfer Pizza is a few blocks away, great pizza choices with a wood burning oven. And a stock of various beverages for you to choose from straight out of their refrigerator. Kid friendly.

Honest review, I have only eaten here years ago and it was good but thought it to be a bit pricey. So our go to is next store at Tramonte. But worth checking out because it does have good reviews. Also a few blocks away.

This used to be the Seabright Brewery, still has brews but a menu of cocktails as well. Food is pretty good. and only a few blocks away, outdoor seating, often they have music playing.
We go there a lot!

There are many great restaurants in the area but our favorites are all within walking distance.
If you are a family it is fun and convenient to be able to go back and forth to the Boardwalk. The beach is nearby as well. We prefer Seabright beach, also leave your car and walk there. Take a stroll down to the harbor or wharf. Check out the sea lions living under the pier at the wharf.
