Sightseeing
Here are some of the non-standard sights I've found and been most impressed with as a relative new-comer to the LA area. If any of these ideas sparks your interest, you're likely going to be amazed at the stuff to see at these attractions!
There's not many casual places to see Ostriches and Emus up close and to feed them, but here's a great day trip! After spending an hour here, continue up the road a few minutes to Solvang... a wonderful traditional German town experience.

You don't need to spend a fortune or spend a whole day to see great Hollywood props and costumes... mostly from the 70's and 80's, and from the 30's and 40's. Plentiful stuff to appreciate for adults who appreciate the classics and cult faves.

Here's an inexpensive place to stop for fans of airplanes and air travel history. Sit on the outside deck and watch the planes take off from Santa Monica airport just yards away. Across the street there's a place to grab great burgers.

Fans of Automobile history can't miss this top-notch grand representation of all types and eras of autos. Spend a full day and splurge for the extra tours of the cellar and rare collection areas. The historical significance of so many vehicles here is mind boggling.
