So, naturally, when Paramour opened, we were just verklempt in anticipation of that first sip. But, there's a McDonalds on the Champs Elysees and a KFC just a stone's throw from the Forbidden City, so we gave it a chance. And, you should, too!

Just a stroll away from the house, on a hill overlooking the ever-changing skyline of San Antonio, sits Dignowity Park, a pleasant two-square-block greenspace that provides ample proof of why the Hill was San Antonio's first posh address. High above the pedestrians of downtown, wealthy sophisticates could breath the clean air while sipping mint juleps on their wide verandas and wonder how the less-fortunate masses coped. Years ago, Pearl Beer was brewed right on the banks of, what was then, a very minor tributary - a creek, really - emanating out of the mighty San Antonio River. After the brewery shuttered in 2001, it languished for many years before becoming the centerpiece of a major revitalization project that saw the introduction of clubs, restaurants high-end retail and the very posh boutique Emma hotel. Now, there are apartments and lofts and an expanded and beautified extension of the Riverwalk, all nestled in a once-decaying neighborhood oh-so-very-near the San Antonio Museum of Art. So, if you tend to gravitate towards places like The Grove in Los Angeles, you definitely don't wanna miss the local version......oh, and there's even a farmer's market at the weekends, just in case you can't think of any other reason to visit.
