Then there is restaurant row on PCH from the 55 to Balboa Bay Resort.
Fashion Island also has a great outdoor mall and lots of restaurants.
And I've listed a few of my favorite restaurants on the Balboa Peninsula.
The 3 owners are Italian from Sicily. Great place, there is nice outdoor seating where they wait on you and have good wines and beer.

This is an amazing little place right on the sand. You will pay the price for the ambiance, but it is so worth is at Sunset. The parking lot is on the upper side of PCH and you take a bus down. Another must see place. There is a bar for drinks if you want to skip dinner.

One of our favorite restaurants. A great seafood affair. Whether you sit at the bar or on the patio, the ocean vibe here sucks you in. Love this place!
