Food & Cocktails

This is a food truck urban garden were you can have a nice meal in the afternoon when the sun sets. Our favorites are Croqueteria were you can try a sample of croquettes each one with its specific sauce to dip in; and Pernileria los Proceres with there amazing roast pork sandwich. Finally you should try one of Senor Paleta ice pops.

Santurce's famous market – La Placita – is known as the hub of San Juan's hottest nightlife scenes. Especially good on Thursday and Friday nights, the historic market plaza and its surrounding streets host what becomes a veritable street party: people meeting up, drinking, eating and, as soon as the salsa band warms up, dancing until the wee hours.

Breakfast & Brunch

The weekend brunches at Abracadabra are welcome and understandably popular. Start with a house mimosa, which you can enjoy the old-fashioned way, with orange juice, or with tamarind, passion fruit or acerola (sour cherry) juice. For non-drinkers, the house sparkling ginger soda is excellent. After that, sample one of the best omelets in San Juan: the "Veggie Luv," with spinach, red onion, mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes, and basil -- a fluffy, wholesome and just about perfect dish for brunch. Or you can sample the "Magic Pancakes," which are available plain or gluten-free, with or without fresh fruit, and most importantly, with or without Nutella. You can also get French toast with or without fruit and Nutella as well.

The cafe is a bit cramped, but the food looks beautiful and tastes great. The menu is huge and offers a variety of breakfast and lunch options. You have to try the latte Brillo which is a colorful latte made by a barista.

Top places to visit

Located in Santurce in Puerto Rico, the Museum of Art is a non-profit organization whose mission is to make the visual art of Puerto Rico and the rest of the world available to the people of Puerto Rico so that they can draw knowledge and inspiration from these works, thereby enriching the lives of the Puerto Rican public. The carefully selected artworks help to give insight into Puerto Rican art and they also give local artists access to visual art from other parts of the world. Don’t miss the beautiful sculpture botanical garden … it’s especially lovely in the evening as the sun sets. The garden is the first and only place I’ve seen Puerto Rico’s iconic coquí frog. Keep your eyes peeled around the pond, and you just might spot one

First off, yes, Santurce is safe, and no, you don’t need to book a tour to find the murals. Ubers in San Juan are surprisingly cheap, and there’s plenty of street parking available if you’ve rented a car. Here is were Santurce es Ley (Santurce is law) started as a yearly summer art and music festival in 2010. The intent was to revitalize the abandoned and rundown area with the murals. **There some rest. and bars were you can hang after you see some of the street art. Ours favorite is El Watusi.**
