Great Brunch. They have fresh coconuts to drink out of and their corn beef hash eggs Benedict is unreal. Their chorizo tacos are a favorite as well. Great service and an easy walk from my apartment, though don't worry if you drive or take an uber- I've done it many times.

Great, heathy food across the board. Generous portions, awesome salads. A little pricey but worth the trip. Weekdays are much quieter.

I love this ramen spot because they are very nice there and it is usually very fast. Pork ramen is great and the shrimp ramen is also really good. Easy walk too!

Wine bar right down the street. Great cheese platters, wines. Bartenders are very knowledgeable- will find the perfect wine for your mood/taste buds. Dark, but romantic atmosphere, perfect for little bite and the start or end of a great night.

Great iconic bar with good food and you can't beat Marty and Elaine- two iconic performs who have been singing and playing jazz standards at the Dresden for years. Great cocktails and overall ambience.

One of my favorite spots in LA. Very close walk from my place. Dog friendly, but you have to keep your pup on his leash, because there is usually a security guard on site who will tell you to leash your dog. Amazing views, perfect for a saturday sunset with wine. Great on weekends, fills up. Also perfect for a random day and a picnic. Located on the hill of the historic Frank Lloyd wright house.

Go on a clear day for amazing panorama view of the entire city. Also, great hiking trails all over and around the observatory, I usually do one with my dog that leads me to the observatory.
Entertainment & Activities
I think this is the best movie theatre in LA. Very easy walk from the apartment. Theatre is Egyptian themed with enough space between aisles that you could practically lay down if you want to (I don't recommend, you'll miss the film!)

Small, family owned Italian Restaurant on Hillhurst, very short walk away. Amazing food! You will not regret coming here, and you can bring your own wine. The lobster ravioli is incredible as is everything they offer.
