Drive through Therisso gorge (about a half an hour from fos villa), make a short stop to visit the second world war museum and then head towards Drakona village to enjoy the local food at ‘Dounias’ taverna. You could return to fos villa from the same route or alternatively, to enjoy more mountainous magnificent scenery, head back passing through the village of Zourva and through village Meskla (the scenery changes dramatically and from steep cliffs you drive through olive and orange groves). Or alternatively you could drive straight to these villages from the usual shorter road through Agia.

Then you could also continue to go and visit Chora Sfakion and from there continue to Sweet water beach or to Orthi ammos beach a beautiful beach past Fragkokastelo.

Hike the Samaria gorge (one full day/can always be booked the day before) or the Imbros gorge: this is smaller-a 3 hours hike (if you do the Imbros gorge then as soon as you arrive at the bottom of the gorge you can take a civilian cab and return to where you left your car. Then you could also continue to go and visit Chora Sfakion and from there continue to Sweet water beach or to Orthi ammos beach a beautiful beach past Fragkokastelo.
Hike the Aradaina gorge (a 3 hours hike-dangerous at times so only for experienced-or at least brave- hikers). The end of the hike brings you to spectacular Marmara beach.
