Food Scene

Angies is the local sandwich spot, everybody knows Ed, the owner. You gotta check the sign on the building, it ranges from inside jokes to political messages, and you must have the Schweet Tea!

Oh my, the Cinotti's cookies and cakes and pastries and doughnuts and all things freshly baked. You score points with everyone when you bring them Cinotti's

This is the original Jax beach breakfast and lunch diner. They do the traditional breakfast, then those fine daily southern lunch specials. Think main course with green beans, cornbread, maybe some black-eyed peas. Its my comfort food go to

Drinks & Nightlife

The vast wine selection, carefully paired with Tapas made from regional ingredients. Again, everyone knows Kori, our local owner and sommelier. Lucky for us, she put down roots here and opened up Royal Palm in what used to be the original AB post office. Check out the original brick architecture

Ok, Pete's Bar is famous. Its like our Key West version of The Green Parrot. But not in Key West. There are ping pong and pool tables, and very strong adult beverages. One of the few smoking bars, so keep that in mind. Its our local "dive" bar, in the best way possible

I know I'm having a great night when we end up at the Flys. The music is epic, its our Cheers sort of place. You will not be disappointed in this very local, very cool dimly lit establishment. And, owner Ralph may or may not be dishing up some amazing County Cork Irish food - depends on the day and time. Except Sunday Brunch, thats always food time.

Sightseeing

Mayport Fishing Village is the backdrop for the Mayport Ferry, and the best connecting route from our Jax beaches to Fernandina/Amelia Island. Not to mention, you can drive your car on and get out to stretch as the ferry crosses the river. Grab some local in season seafood on the way back. Either eat there or to cook later

Parks & Nature

Some of the best surf breaks here, amazing walking and biking trails. They have a waterpark kids playground that is essential on a hot summer day!

Everyone guesses at this name. Pretty sure Lourdes, the beautiful owner, knows for sure. The rest of us say it stands for Mike's out Surfing (That would be her hubby). This is the best place ever for one of a kind gifts, most handmade and local. And, you can arrange to have a terrarium building party there. Speaking of hubby, mine gained major points with scheduling a party there for me. Yeah, just hanging out with cool people, playing with interesting plants and dirt and marbles and other tiny decorating objects while drinking wine. I digress. Love this place
