Graze on Grand is one of our favourite local spots. It's a wine bar/café/restaurant/shop and gallery on St Leonard’s seafront. Find all "life’s pleasures – delicious wines, mouth watering food, smooth Viennese coffee and, the cherry on top, art work to aesthetically complement your experience". The staff and atmosphere are convivial and the music events are a great excuse to hang out for the evening. Wines are available to take out and the selection is very impressive. There are wine tasting events held regularly too.

It has a relaxed and informal atmosphere and is perfect for an intimate dinner. Accurately described in a July 2014 Telegraph review as "Michelin-level accomplishment with an easy-going charm". Perfect service and a real gem in the neighbourhood. I took my partner here for a birthday dinner and he loved it!

A new addition to the neighbourhood, an intimate and cosy spot for cocktails and a small and innovative British fusion menu. The cocktails are great and I can recommend the Ask Melegi -so smooth! The bar also has special events with music and seasonal celebrations, so check out their website.

"Purveyors of Fine Burgers, Fries, Craft Beers & Good Times" - I should say so! The best burgers for miles around! They don't take bookings, only walk-ins, but it's absolutely well worth the wait if you have to queue. I can't recommend this place enough and you won't be sorry to spend some time here sampling the eclectic burger menu and the delicious rosemary fries. The portions are very generous and we've never made it to the dessert menu as we've been stuffed to the gills! The atmosphere is fun and lively, the prices very reasonable and the staff are the friendliest around. A huge favourite of ours, with a sea view, no less!

The Love Café is a big favourite with kids and families and a great place to hang out with friends for breakfast/brunch or lunch. It's a quirky place full of weird and wonderful art work and they have an extensive menu with pretty much anything you can imagine. We love the pancakes, the breakfasts and the cakes! In good weather there is plenty of seating outside in the picnic garden and dogs are always welcome inside and out. It's a great spot to stop at for refreshment if you're perusing the junk and antique shops of Norman Road.

It's also a refreshment stop as it has a coffee and juice bar and a programme of events such as book making workshops and creative kids' sessions.
Smiths' menu is full of locally grown produce and home-cooked food. They do a wonderful cooked breakfast and great lunches. They often have local artists' work exhibited and it's a great place for breakfast or lunch with a beach view.

Cosy and colourful cafe serving delicious breakfasts and lunches with a South American twist! The Mexican hot chocolate is so rich and warming and perfect on an autumn or winter's day! Lovely seafront views too and a short walk along the Marina away from the hustle and bustle.

Our local! Such a great warm and welcoming place and a real hub of the community. There's an eclectic art collection, a stash of board games and an upright piano. It has a constant flow of events - live music, DJs, Posh Jumble Sales, Bingo Nights and a regular Wednesday quiz night (every fortnight). A very inclusive pub with a wide clientele. We love it and it was one of the reasons I was drawn to this neighbourhood!

It has a constant flow of events - live music, DJs, Posh Jumble Sales, Bingo Nights and a regular Wednesday quiz night (every fortnight). A very inclusive pub with a wide clientele. We love it and it was one of the reasons I was drawn to this neighbourhood!
Sightseeing
Our iconic reborn pier won the Pier of the Year 2017 award and the RIBA Stirling Prize for Architecture recently and it's well deserved. We love it and it's a wonderful addition to the attractions on offer. There is a lovely bar and cafe in the pavilion and the best sunset views! There is a visitor centre and a wide variety of events scheduled all year round. We're very fond of the pier and have enjoyed some great concerts on 'The Plank' since it opened in 2016.

Hastings Country Park is on the East Hill above the Old Town. It's a lovely unspoilt spot for getting a fantastic view of the whole coastline as far as Eastbourne and the steps up the hill will give you a great workout! Alternatively you can take the beautiful original funicular railway to the top and back.

Recently renovated with the aid of a Heritage Lottery Fund grant, the Gardens today offer a tranquil oasis in the Maze Hill area of St Leonards, with views to the sea.
