Our favorite place to eat! Turn across from McDonalds onto Army Road and park on the left when the road ends at a security station. It is open to civilians who must show ID at the security station before entering. Many times there is live music on the weekends. You sit right on the water, the food is reasonably priced and excellent!

Kaneana Cave is a few minutes south of Yokohama Bay on your left as you head back down the coast. You probably didn't notice it on your way north because of the peculiar land formation that conceals the mouth in that direction. Legend has it that this cave was the home of Nanue the shark man. Unfortunately, people have come here with spray cans and trashed the cave. If you can overlook that, it's a phenomenon—a big one. You can spot it by looking for three cement blocks, like road dividers, right in front of the entrance. It's at the foot of a 200-foot outcropping of stone.

0.7 mile hike to the top of Mount Leahi (Diamond Head) for views of Waikiki. It’s a 1 1/2 hour round-trip. Allow time at the top to enjoy the views. There are two long staircases and a 300-foot tunnel leading to 360° panoramic views of O`ahu’s interior mountains, suburban areas, Waikiki Beach, downtown Honolulu and coastal areas. There are old World War II bunkers and gun emplacements at the summit. Access the trail by entering Diamond Head Crater from Monsarrat Avenue. First part of the trail is steep, with several switchbacks and then a gradual rise to the steps. Tip: Wear walking shoes and bring bottled water, flashlight and your camera!

A must for every visit This is a protected wildlife sanctuary: tropical fish and coral abound. The bay is absolutely lovely, and the waves are always gentle, Portions of movies have been filmed here. Snorkeling is fabulous! Bring your own gear or rent it and have the experience of a lifetime. Snorkeling is simple--all you do is float on the surface and look at all the wonderful life under water: fish, sea urchins, turtles, and coral. Be sure your mask is tight fitting. The equipment is not expensive to rent. When you wade into the water there will be numerous fish swimming around you, but to look at them under the water--so many colors, patterns, shapes--is an incredible experience.

The only operating railroad on Oahu! Sunday rides (12:30 p.m. & 2:30 p.m.) are 90-minutes long, round-trip, and fully narrated. Depart from the station in Ewa traveling at a lickety-split speed of 15 miles per hour. Passengers hear the story of the OR&L as well as stories about how sugar cane trains were used on the sugar plantations. Narrator points out sites of historic interest, such as the site of a sisal plantation, historic Fort Barrette, and the "ghost town" of Gilbert. They also talk about the present and future growth of the Leeward Area. At the end of the line the train stops for a few minutes so passengers can admire the beautiful view of the ocean at Kahe Point.
