A more contemporary town to Bad Gastein, with its own spa resort. This one is a favourite with the kids as it has a cinema to swim into and watch cartoons!

The waterfall here is amazing and you can climb up the side of it using the steps built into the mountain. Across the road is the Krimml wonder world of water. Activities and fun for the kids.

Wolfgangsee Lake
A beautiful lake, one of many, but a favourite of ours.
Taxenbach-Rauris station
There is a gorge here which is nice to walk up and round.
Kaprun
You can ski all year round here as the resort is built on a glacier.
Shopping
An amazing lake to walk round, see the Grand Hotel and have some lunch at Crazy Daisy's restaurant near the water. Lots of lovely shops to look round - look for the one with all the cuckoo clocks.

A smaller town but the most amazing skiing. Once you have exhausted Rauris, head here.
Food Scene
Our favourite mountain restaurant. Use the chair lift in the winter, but only accessible in the summer by walking to it from the gondola.

Undoubtedly our favourite restaurant in the village. So good, we held our wedding dinner there after our marriage at the town hall.
